Protect Protection is a data-driven research organization committed to evaluating the protective order process in Oregon. Our mission is grounded in the belief that a transparent, accurate, and fair judicial system is essential to ensuring community safety.

We focus on documenting both the strengths and challenges within the current process, providing evidence-based insights to help close procedural gaps. By moving beyond anecdotal accounts, we aim to identify where the system fulfills its purpose and where unintended consequences such as housing instability or employment disruption signal opportunities for improvement.

Organizational Status: Founding Phase

Protect Protection is in the early stages of development and actively pursuing 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. We are building the foundation for a statewide research initiative that prioritizes objectivity and impact.

Our current priorities include:

  • Finalizing Research Protocols
Preparing for our first year of court observation and public records analysis.

  • Recruiting Founding Board Members
Seeking leaders with expertise in law, data science, public policy, and nonprofit governance to join our inaugural Board of Directors.

  • Developing Strategic Partnerships
Collaborating with legal professionals and community stakeholders to ensure our research serves all Oregonians.
